Is there a special tool for Volvo sunroof?
We have a stonking £ 500 second hand 940gle is roof opens, but does not close, without much time and effort. Is there a special tool that allows you to close the roof manually (without using the power). ? I took the cover off the motor housing (just in front of the sunroof) and it seems to be a slot on the motor shaft so it can be activated, but not turn unless a release mechanism inside is kept open …. and yes …. you can not hold it open and turn a screwdriver into the slot of suggestions …. ANY please! (and do not say "buy another car")
I do not know about a Volvo, but I had a BMW 5 series, once with a similar setup, and I'm sure it was an instrument of some kind in the toolkit the car so you can manually operate the electric windows / roof failure. It can be a specially designed lip on wheelbrace or something, but there is where I would see. Hope it helps.
