Why a given patient stops breathing pure O2 mask?
The patient has a high PCO2 and low PO2. It gives them a mask and leave pure O2 to breathe why? Not sure if P stands for pressure or partial pressure.
The drive for breathing is controlled by CO2 levels in the body. After breathing pure O2 will have almost no CO2 in the body and no need of encouragement. The P is for partial pressure btw.
